Newport CH was formed in 2003 through a partnership with Canusa Hershman Recycling Company, with headquarters in Connecticut and Maryland.

Canusa Hershman operates 8 partnership recycling and processing facilities on the east coast.

Over 90,000 tons per month of wastepaper is handled through Canusa Hershman and Newport CH, with many of the tons coming from contracted tonnage and company owned processing facilities. Half of these tons are shipped into the export market.
